Student Saturday VI, July 2, 2016, Milan, Italy
The ICOM Costume Committee is pleased to announce that we will sponsor our sixth Student Saturday program on July 2 in Milan. The planning committee is composed of Vicki Berger, Rebecca Akins, Nicoletta Morozzi, and Colomba Leddi, advised by Dorothea Nicolai, Costume Committee Board Member. Our venue will be the Noosphere pavilion of NABA, Nuova Accademia Di Belle Arti Milano, in the Triennale garden (viale Alemagna 6). Refreshments and a light lunch will be funded by the Costume Committee budget.
Are you able to arrive in Milan by Friday, July 1? If you are able to add a day to your travel schedule, please consider giving a gift of your time and costume expertise to college and university students and young museum professionals. We would like to explore how museums make their costume collections accessible to students, researchers, and the general public. “Accessibility” gives us a framework to explore behind-the-scenes tours, on-line and virtual access, exhibitions, volunteer work, internships and fellowships, study days, and other ways we connect our collections with others. As always, presentations on other topics are welcome too.
What format best suits your proposed presentation? A 20-minute PowerPoint? Table talk? Round table discussion? Other? Please let us know by Monday, May 2, 2016, if you are able to participate. At this point, just a note with your name, topic, and preferred format is enough. Send your correspondence simultaneously by e-mail to Vicki Berger firstname.lastname@example.org and to Rebecca Akins email@example.com. Vicki and Rebecca will keep the planning committee apprised of program development.
Many thanks for your past and future support of our Student Saturday programs. Please join us in Milan for Student Saturday VI!
All the best,
Vicki L. Berger and the Student Saturday VI Planning Committee
